Custom Wine Cellars Las Vegas recently completed a project at The Peaks in Las Vegas. With the help of Custom Wine Cellar, led by Steve Pantalemon, the project features a modern wine cellar with glass panels, glossy shelves, and an RGB lighting system that can be remotely controlled to switch colors.

Transforming a Spare Room into Modern Home Wine Cellars
Located in the stunning surroundings of Lake Las Vegas, this luxurious home boasts a contemporary exterior and features a custom-designed wine room, perfect for hosting parties and gatherings. The large spare room in the home had an empty wall, making it practical to install a new wine cellar quickly.
Initially, the room had black tiles and what appeared to be red-brown laminated walls. With ample space, the clients could add two single-seater leather sofas directly outside the residential wine cellars.
Glass French Doors: Creating an Enticing Entrance for Guests
Custom Wine Cellar
Clean, minimalist lines, glass, and metal characterize the design of modern wine cellars. For his residential wine cellar, glass doors were installed, and dual-paned glass panels encircled the front part of the cellar.
Dual-paned glass consists of two single panels with a spacer, usually filled with argon gas. This type of glass offers better insulation than single-paned glass, although single-paned glass can be sufficient in some cases.
Our senior designer and consultant Steve said, “With single-paned glass, you must manage temperatures inside and outside the house. However, with framed, dual-paned, and thermally broken glass, the cellar can maintain a temperature of 55 degrees even when it’s a hundred degrees outside.”
The wine cellar’s entrance features a pair of French doors. Unlike double doors, French doors open outward, requiring guests to pull the handles when entering.
This modern home wine cellar features glass French doors, double-deep metal rods for custom wine racks, and an RGB lighting system.
The Custom Wine Cellars Las Vegas designers installed magnets between the doors to allow for easy locking when closed. Steve mentioned that this practical feature prevents the doors from being left slightly open and ensures they shut securely.
Fully Ducted Cooling System for this Modern Home Wine Cellars
We selected the HS 8600 cooling system from US Cellar Systems to cool our custom modern home wine cellars at The Peaks, Las Vegas. The HS 8600 is a high-static, fully ducted cooling system that does not produce significant noise and vibrations inside the cellar because the noisy components are installed outside the cellar.
The HS 8600’s thermally protected motor enables it to perform well even in high-temperature areas like Nevada while maintaining static pressure. Before working on the wine room’s insulation, we ran the copper tubing through the walls and into the condenser behind the wine cellar.
As for insulation, since this is new construction, the team was able to work on the walls from scratch. We added 3-4 inches of closed-cell spray foam on the back wall, then installed plywood, greenboard, and mudsand, added some texture, and finally painted. We chose an almost brick-red color for the paint to complement the walls outside the cellar.
Contemporary Custom Wine Racks with Glossy and Elegant Touch
Custom wine cellar displays add a sophisticated touch to the entire room. While metal wine racks are commonly used, we opted for a custom-built wine rack with a white, glossy finish for our modern home wine cellar.
The lower section of this wine rack features 20 drawers, 4 open bins, and 12 triangular bins. Each drawer contains six black metal racks to store standard bottles horizontally, while the triangular bins store inventory in a cork-forward manner.
Above the drawer section is a spacious countertop area designed for decanting wines and handling bottles safely and conveniently. The remaining upper section of the rack holds double-deep black metal rods to cradle both standard-sized 750ml bottles and magnum-sized bottles. In the center of the custom wine rack is an ample, empty wall space that has also been painted. This space provides an excellent opportunity to display unique artwork or a glass mirror. This custom wine rack can hold 920 bottles, and there is additional space for expanding the collection in the future.
Visually Striking RGB Lighting for These Modern Home Wine Cellars
One of the standout features of this Las Vegas custom home wine room is its wine cellar lighting. Instead of the commonly used white and warm LED lights, the client opted for a more unique approach. They chose to install RGB lights, which can shine through the glass enclosure and into the adjacent room, creating a visually stunning effect.
The RGB lights installed in the wine cellar are remote-controlled and can be adjusted to display various colors to suit different moods. They also offer the option to flicker or remain fixed. With these customizable settings, the wine cellar can be visually transformed simply by adjusting the lights!
